This is where The Who got that sound, by the way, back in the day… hence the name

Mixey,

I told Travis, I still would love to see his version of "Empty Garden" he told me he would work on it tonight.

Travis did send me a Collective Soul tune he does. He did it with four strings.

WOW, he made that sound FAT on 4 strings!  Pretty cool considering how FAT and string heavy Collective Soul’s stuff is.

I like his version!  He has a nice vibe, doesn’t he?  I like his choices.  Love Collective Soul… this one, The World I Know, et all.

Thanks for sharing your Travis’s music with us Jeff.  Thumbs UpStarClap

Looking forward to Empty Garden!

Mixey,

Travis told me to listen to it with headphones, I'm pretty sure he did it with four strings to prove something! Did I tell you that Travis' daughter's uncle is Jack White?

Yes makes a big difference.  Both Geno and I listen with Behrdynamic headphones.

Jack White used to do that same kind of thing… playing on a crappy guitar to make a point.

No you didn’t mention Jack White.  So is Ben Blackwell your granddaughter’s cousin or much older half brother, or is her mother married to one of the Gillis men? If she’s one of White’s sisters, then she must be a lot older than your son.  Is that right?

Now I understand your bringing up The Who.

I am confused as to why with all of those musicians and record company execs, why your Travis isn’t getting a family shoe-in to at least something… but not all families as uncomplicated as Jack White’s music.  I do like his stuff.

Mixey,

Travis' ex-girlfriend, Lisa is related to Jack! Travis lost her due to his inability to be a family man! Gisele is my granddaughters name. My wife and I, hope to see Lisa and Gisele this weekend. Jack has a Very Cool Cutting Edge Style.

I hope you and your wife will see them, Jeff.  It’s got to be really hard on everyone, especially on Travis and Lisa!  Gisele is a beautiful name!

A friend of mine said he was going to write a book called “How Expectations Can And Will Ruin Your Life”. Then he said he realized that the title was the whole book.  He didn’t need to say anything more.  lol

Travis can be a family man in his own way, but whatever that entails, he has to make sure that his daughter knows from him directly that he loves her. That’s the greatest gift a father can give his daughter. It’s way more important than money or music or trying to live up to expectations or anything, really, because supporting a child emotionally multiplies out into the world.

Creating life is the highest form of art there is, IMO!

I loved the White Stripes too, by the way… kind of a Cream meets Hendrix meets The Velvet Underground.

Speaking of Hendrix,  I came across this video of a young teacher named Ayla.  She did such a good job with this video, IMO!  Absolutely love her enthusiasm, appreciation and desire to share!

Your Travis might agree. My Travis would have.  I miss him so much!  We loved sharing things like this.
