I understand Jeff!!! Grief causes people to respond in ways that sometimes they can’t help, and then everyone around either acts out or implodes.
It happened in my family too, and the consequences have been life altering. In my case, all of us cousins harbor little illl with each other, but we have not been able to communicate with each other, maybe waiting until the last of the previous generation of our family has passed, or could be seen as being traitorous to our respective parents. And if it continues with some of us, that we feel like we have to explain their behavior or viewpoints of the past to honor their memories, then the doors will never be open. We’re currently all a bunch of cowards. 🙄 I’ve dreamed of a day, when I could just wipe the slate clean and say that we’re all human. We all have flaws. We all do the best we can do in the moment and sometimes we fail miserably and make each other feel bad. But isn’t our love for each other greater than all of that? Can we deny that we all have important memories of our families that were greater and more in common with each other? Could we agree to cherish each other’s stories and share them? Something like that. I don’t know if that will ever happen for my family. Right now there’s too much threat of toxicity that still exists… or might exist if a door is opened. Maybe yours will heal. I hope it will. I LOVE your story about your uncle’s gift to you! I can just picture you as a young boy trying to hang onto that prized possession, while riding your bike!!! Precious!! Mixey |

Mixey, Yes, Uncle Toad did know Travis. Like, I told you Uncle Toad kept the whole music thing and how influential he was to Y'all on the Downlow. Travis was a teenager when he passed and it happened so suddenly we were all just Blown Away. My Travis is a Rare Individual Also. He has exceptional talent, yet he needs Good People to Influence Him, if that makes sense? I was reading this thread tonight. (Please remember, I have a 1 and 3 year old) So forgive me if I'm short in responding! I will eventually get back to it. I am Very Thankful! I was never able to fully Grieve For Uncle Toad! So I guess in a way, I am doing Just That. Jeff |

Jeff,
I’m glad you’re gaining solace out of reading your Uncle Toad’s tribute space here. We are all rereading frequently. And I’m thankful that you and your mom’s (Toad’s sister) side are here too! Life goes on in a continuous thread! Is (was?) your mom older or younger than Toad? We know it’s going to be a difficult day, but a healing day too, for you tomorrow and your son’s siblings and mom. Is his mom from a previous marriage? I know from experience what it’s like to be a caring mom, who has lost a child, as well as a caring stepmom, who has lost a stepchild. Love to Chase! ![]() Your Uncle Toad would have wanted to be there to support your son and his sister’s grandson I’m sure! He and we will be there for you in spirit! Mixey

Attention Toad’s family!
Toad’s photobucket account has been temporarily deactivated. The pictures he shared with us on Soulful Planet can only be restored if his account is reactivated. He signed up as Ed Goetz with his hotmail e-mail. There are probably a lot of other things in his library that would interest you too if you have not looked there. Thank you ~ S. P. A. T. George |

Hi Jeff,
I wrote your number down. You should probably erase that from your post and send it in a private message instead. I tried figuring out your uncle’s photobucket photos too, but it will only allow it via a code sent to his email. I was able to restore my photos and some that we put up under S. P. A. T. . Geno is restoring a lot of his too and because his library is under a certain amount, he said he didn’t have to pay anything. We didn’t count on photobucket locking people out. Pretty nasty to invite us there for free, and then hold our pictures hostage for a monthly fee! I had to sign up for a subscription to restore mine, but it was necessary, because all of Soulful Planet’s S. P. A. T. library is in my account too. Now we have to move it all over here. It’ll be better in the long run, but a bit of a pain right now. Mixey
