P.S.  S.S., I think Eugene Pitt, Marvin Junior & Little Anthony qualify as soul singers even though they sing doo wop, too.  Just my opinion.TongueClown

You expect me to pick top two songs from all those artists???

LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

I cant do it.

No way for example could I pick top two songs from Otis Reddding.   I like everything he did.

It was like the other day at the bar, I was asked to pick my three all time favorite LP's.   I rambled off three random LP's I like.   I like too much music to do a top five, or top ten list, or even a top one hundred.   Maybe I top 500 lol.

Doo wop and vocal groups from the 50's are the roots of soul.  One of the reasons the Coasters were on my list.

I 'm not asking for 'soulful singers', I'm asking for the 'Genre' of the "60's Soul Music Era".  ~~ Doo Wop is still another thread. ~~ The Soul Music Era is what I asked for.

Some artists have performed in both decades with two different styles such as  The Platters, some just performed in both era's such as Marvin Junior/Little Anthony/ & Pitt.

Winfield is from the Doo Wop Era, The Coasters were boardering Rock & Roll & R&B both in the 50's era.

Now can we have just the 'Soul Music Era', not the 50's stuff.

Thank You.

Hey MM,
They are the square ones if they are just 'limited' to what's been out there over the past twenty years, they need to check the roots all the way back to the 20's, although I feel the 50's & 60's were our greatest musical era's.  0:>)
