~ Ooops! Whoops & Other Calculation Disasters ~

Guess what this thread is about?
Heres a "little" hint...

— Oil Driller Breaches Salt Mine Under Louisana Lake —

OMG!!!
"This is how you flush an entire lake down a hole. An exploratory drilling exercise miscalculates the location of a salt mine while drilling through a lake bed. The mine is hit, and the oil derek, the mine, the lake, and a few barges are a total loss... not to mention 65 acres of land!"

Sadly...

— Firework factory accident Enschede, Netherlands—

The cameraman sadly miscalculated that he was
far enough away from the fire. Sadly, according to
this link- May 13, 2000 reports...
"On May the 13th a large explosion happened in a fireworks factory in Enschede in the Netherlands. Marcel, a freelance cameraman was one of the first to arrive on the scene. It is believed that he perished when a second explosion took place. He was filming for Radio Twente Internet."
~
The company SE Fireworks exploded in a terrible blast killing 24 people.
look what it does to this neighborhood, located far too close to this factory.
— Fireworks explosion at Enschede, Netherlands —

— Fireworks disaster in Seest, Kolding - Denmark —

1200 tons of fireworks blowing up
November 3rd 2004 in Seest, Kolding - Denmark.

note the (2) massive pressure waves... oh, ...just run!

Mixey, I know!!!!!

Woah... in that last video... just seeing that huge "pressure wave" bubble rise up to the sky,
at (00:38)
knowing that the accompanying killer sound pressure wave is slower...
but very much... ON THE WAY... YIKES...
makes me want to cover my ears and hit the dirt!

Frightening!

Ok... here's an amazing one where somewhere, somehow...

...SOMEBODY GOT THE CALCULATIONS RIGHT

Look at this...
— Amazing! —

"...doesn't have a scratch..."

Toad!!!

O M G !!!

Frightening beyond belief! At least someone calculated correctly to put plants such as these in the middle of nowhere, instead of right next to main street. That last explosion... woah!

Here's one that I never saw, or heard about, before today!

— Delta Rocket has an "anomaly" at Cape Canaveral—

If
the stuff we make
falls apart,
catches on fire
or
just blows up...
Well maybe we just need to go back
and
re-look at the original plans... Ya know...
Go Back To The Drawing Board...
and see if we can find
some engineering design flaw
or
just what might have caused something
to go wrong with ...

the other wise perfect
and lovely design plan
...

~ooops~

Sweating the details... on a $500,000 test flight...

and then an Ooops happens...

Ummm... just a thought, but

...Could it be the COUNTDOWN?

(((Listen to it!!!))) 5... 4... 3... 2... zero ...
whizzz prang bang boom

"..."The primary focus of the test bed is to demonstrate an integrated propulsion and guidance, navigation and control system that can fly a lunar descent profile to exercise the Autonomous Landing and Hazard Avoidance Technology (ALHAT) safe landing sensors and closed-loop flight control,” NASA said in today’s statement. “Additional objectives include technology demonstrations — for instance, tank material and manufacture, reaction control thrusters, main engine performance improvements, helium pressurization systems, ground operations, flight operations, range safety, software and avionics architecture.”

"Morpheus was manufactured and assembled at Johnson Space Center in Houston, and Armadillo Aerospace. Testing of the prototype lander had been ongoing at Johnson in preparation for its first free-flight test at Kennedy."

But it's NASA, and no doubt, they'll get it right when they figure out what went wrong in this test.

Afterall... it IS what tests like this are for.

(((Go NASA & JPL!)))
