You have everyone's respect & support for the fine job you did and great CD that came of it, not to mention your 'beautiful voice' .
Much love to you Denise.

Best of Luck to All the 'efforts' in both these projects, to 'those' who worked so hard!

             Really great music and production cannot be denied.
The artists, work, and effort that went into ASTOTC will reap
the rewards of their devotion to produce great music.
            Winning a Grammy[or Grammys] would be wonderful, but
everyone connected to this project has already effected the lives
of many people with the sweet sounds of stellar soul music.

I am sooo proud to have been slighly involved in this great
double CD, and am overjoyed that I had the chance to meet most
of the wonderful folks connected to it. I have developed some friendships that will be with me for the rest of my life, and am very grateful for this oppertunity.

With a little luck we will all be able to say that we were
all a small part of some Grammy winning happenings.
Lets keep our fingers  crossed and celebrate the nominations !!!!

Gene ...

GREAT NEWS!

Everybody from Phil on down - everybody - is owed the massively overdue recognition that "Soulful Tale" deserves. In the midst of the desperate drought that has plagued popular music for years, grammy recognition for ST would be a welcome kick in the ass for the music scene. And it would reward a remarkable group of artists that have waited a long time for the world to catch up to this great piece of work.

And your 'smokin mixes ... I want the masses to hear your magic!

Fingers crossed....

J.

Hi Everybody!!!

Thank You ALL for the Great Comments... yeah, we're all buzzing!
*lol*

Well,

I sent in my Grammy Ballot off to LA.
It took forever going through the pdf file lists, but it was very well worth it.

I am stunned that there were a total of 10 listings...
(yes, 10!)
relating directly
to
A Soulful Tale Of Two Cities
and
The Masters of Funk, Soul And Blues
on the Grammy List!

There were very few other releases that I was able to find on the list with this much recognition. Stunning! ...somehow, we must be doing something right.
No matter what happens next, as Phil Hurtt said to me last night...

"We ALL share in this."

Not just everyone who played their hearts out or worked their butt's off to help get this double CD PhilaTroit project done, but EVERYBODY who joined in with something positive to say and in some way help and support these efforts to celebrate some Great Music featuring Great Artists & Great Musicians... against some significant resistance and some unbelievable odds. You ALL know who YOU are and exactly WHAT I mean... take and share some of this credit, and enjoy!
This is at the core of what MUSIC is all about.

~Again, Thank YOU & MuchLove To All~
Geno

~~~
P.S. A special note of Congratulations to Jeff Chestek -
my Engineering Buddy and Friend from way back... who is ALSO listed in
Production, Non-Classical
Category 92 - Best Engineered Album, Non-Classical
028. BIG. - will.i.am, Jeff Chestek, Mike Eleopoulos, Ron Fair, Tal
Herzberg, Padriac Kerin, Tony Maserati, Peter Mokran, Dave
Pensado, Jack Joseph Puig, Jason Villaroman, Dave Way, Ethan
Willoughby & Frank Wolf, engineers (Macy Gray)
(Jeff Chestek helped me greatly with engineering tech & SSL repair and configuration issues, not to mention engineering moral support throughout the various recording, mixing and mastering stages of A Soulful Tale Of Two Cities, both at The Studio in Philly and here at 'D" Street.
Go Jeff!!! ...and yes, I voted for Ya too! *lol*)
Hi everybody,
At last, thanks to Mixey and Geno I'm once again able to post here on the most exciting and informative site on the web.
Mixey, I've written my code down in several places including my cell so all i have to do is remember those places and where my cell phone is..LOL
 We're all very excited by the potential
of  actually winning a Grammy and making it through to the final cut is a "David vs Goliath" situation... But, David has been known to win some of those battles we have at least (10) shots at his forehead .
There are some great folks here on the planet, 'great to be a part of it.
I have some photos and stuff to post.....back in a bit ..phones are ringing.
Phil
I need to be here more often. . . lol !
Yes this Grammy thing really helps the process just "a tad", doesn't it?  Smile
