I will never understand why people have demonized Butter.
It is 70% water....... thats 70%... over two
thirds WATER.
We all eat cheese like fools, but we are told that
Butter is supposed to be BAD  for us. I can say
with no reservation, that if butter was bad for you,
and would plug your arteries, I would have died
thirty years ago. I eat butter on EVERYTHING, and
drink whole milk, and eat tons of Ice cream....
all the time. I eat cheese, but in moderation.

If Butter is going to kill me, I will die happy,
because I'm not going to quit eating it.
I have read the labels on phoney spreads
that are used in place of butter, and it reads
like some kind of nuclear waste products.
Butter is natural, pure, and functions well
for what it was made to do.
Stop the madness !!!  Embrace Butter !!!
  It is your friend !!!Big%20smile

There's absolutely nothing wrong with butter.  You're right Toad... and the fake stuff is horrible.

When margerine first came out, I develped a taste for Autumn margerine sandwiches... a teen thing.  I can't believe I ate that stuff.  lol

Butter is wonderful, especially the unsalted kind, which is way fresher.  You can always add your own salt.

I like European butter, which is darker... and Irish butter too.

Clarified butter is great for shrimp dishes with lemon and garlic... OMG!

Being part Italian, I do love olive oil. like you might imagine... the BIG can is in my kitchen.  I love peanut oil and coconut oil too for Asian dishes.

... but good old whipped butter on a salt encrusted potato is wonderful!

Toad & Mixey,

I so agree here. I love real butter!
Both salted and unsalted, used in reasonable moderation... yum!!!

But I can not stomach the fake butter stuff very well... margarine has actually made me feel nauseated on occasion, so I stay clear of it...
even in that "fake movie theater butter style microwave popcorn".
I'd much rather get natural, unsalted popcorn, cook it up and then just add a little good old regular salted butter... melted.
A little goes a long way, and tastes soooo much better.

It reminds me of being a kid at the historic 'Walt Whitman' Movie Theater in Jersey... standing in line, watching them make the fresh popcorn and melting real butter by the pound to pour on top.

~Yum!~

Iv'e been buying and using Imported butter
from Denmark. The brand name is: Lurpak
It has a flavor that I remember from my childhood
when local daries produced a lot of butter. The domestic stuff now days is bland as hell, with nearly
no flavor notes of any kind. I'm really liking this
imported stuff, and use it on everything. Thumbs%20Up
