have been deejaying since 1974 and founded the first Dj group, The Chosen Few, to meet the demands I had for my music in Chicago. The Chosen Few includes Djs, Andre Hatchett, Alan King, Tony Hatchett, Dj Jesse Saunders, and Terry Hunter. In the late 1970’s, the Chosen Few played at numerous parties and at legendary venues including Sauer’s, First Impressions, Tree of Life, and The Loft. In celebration of our pioneering days in the underground House scene, we established the Chosen Few Picnic in 1990 to showcase our music among family and friends. Since its inception, the picnic has grown to be a world premier house event that attracts thousands of people, annually, to our Chicago home base.
i also have a residency in New York with Kenny Dope called TWO NATIONS presented by Robbi.

I call the series “orgasm” because I begin my mixes with sensual songs
and then increasingly layer more aggressive sounds until they reach a
peak at the end of the set, similar to a climax. These songs are
especially targeted to my female audience who respond well to the use
of 90% vocals on tracks and tend to vibe well with my song selection.

I use deejaying as a medium to tell a musical story. My mixes have
always incorporated the newest in House music because I believe I want
to present my audience with the freshest and hottest songs available.
In fact, I have made only one old-school CD in my career, which will
be released in the near future.

I make finding new House music my priority. My love for deejaying
thrives on playing this new music before any one else and seeing how
my audience interacts with it. There is no better feeling than
watching dancers groove wildly to the music I play. I am motivated by
the “orgasmic” chemistry I create with sound and human movement on the
dance floor. Welcome to Wayne’s World!

Alan is one of Chicago’s original house music DJs and a member of the legendary DJ crew “The Chosen Few” (Wayne Williams, Alan King, Jesse Saunders, Tony Hatchett, Andre Hatchett and Terry Hunter).  In a 2007 interview discussing his move back to Chicago, Grammy Award winning DJ and producer Frankie Knuckles observed: "One of the best things about returning to Chicago is catching up with some of the home-grown talent. I like to hear the spin that some of them put on house music - that's what sparks me. The brilliant Andre Hatchett is the perfect example. He is one of two guys in Chicago who have the biggest impact on me. The other is Alan King. They are the truest to the house music form, yet there is soul, personality and individuality in what they're doing. They're the real thing."

In the late '70s and early '80s, the Chosen Few DJs were among the DJs primarily responsible for spreading the soulful brand of dance music that came to be known as "House Music" at legendary Chicago night spots, including First Impressions, Sauer's, the Playground and the Loft, a club of historic importance in the birth and development of House Music.   Still together more than 30 years later and with the addition of their youngest member, legendary DJ and producer Terry Hunter, the Chicago DJs bring you the annual Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic every July in Chicago, one of the largest house music festival events in the world!  
Alan regularly plays at Chicago's hottest nightspots and makes DJ appearances around the country, including the Winter Music Conference in Miami, New York's Sullivan Room, and Club Life in Atlanta, Ga.  Since 2010, Alan has also maintained his monthly residency "Chosen Few Saturdays" the third Saturday of every month at Lounge 52 in Chicago.  Alan has been featured in numerous articles, blogs and documentary films about house music, including Chip's E's acclaimed documentary "The Unusual Suspects:  Once Upon a Time in House Music."  Alan and the rest of the Chosen Few DJs were also recently honored at a celebration honoring the 100 Most Influential DJs in Chicago House Music History.

Since the acquisition of some incredible support, including that of underground heavyweight, Mosca, Madhouse is pleased to announce a new signing in the form of Dutch Born, London raised, Issac Christopher. On this debut release, Issac emerges from the studio with new thumping bass lines to delight the madhouse ensemble with his exceptional productions.
Title track, "Shake That" hits with bass heavy intro beats and launches with a solid vocal synonymous with house music. The deep overtones, accentuated synth and use of percussion throughout the track add to the feel good factor creating a body bumping track to make you do just as the track says: Shake That!
"Been Thru The House" continues the voyage, starting with a disco house feel with it's stomping kick bass and cow bells, then develops into this techy cross over with a jerky vocal and wobbly top lines.
Truly a sprightly little number, closing the EP is a hands in the air track, comprising of steady beats and a feel good vocal. "I Need You" borders on the garage/disco amalgamation with a simplistic kick and a sequential melody that rolls down the scale and invokes a little more head bobbing and rhythmical shoulder shrugging.
The Shake That EP fuses hefty house vibes with excitable percussion to bring you a foot stomping fifteen minutes of uplifting yet mellowed, get down enjoyment.

I love the photo of you and your Mom, Mixey. Just 'sayin.
 
I am with my Mom, AND my wife (who is also a mother),
hanging out for the next two days. We did awesome
grilled kabobs tonight with many cocktails... My Mom is
sharing stories with her granddaughter (my daughter)
Madelyn, and that is so much fun to watch from a distance...
 
It has been a beautiful day here on the East Coast...
I am blessed in so many ways, especially for a guy who
is more spiritual than religious... everything feels right
